If Ubaya chemical engineering students are asked to describe Ayrine Sukharaharja physically, they will say that she is tall, skinny, and with white skin. Besides her good physical performance, her friends will also recognize her as a bright student with GPA 3.81. In recent days, she is qualified as the outstanding student at regional level (Mawapres) on event called National Student Scientific Week (NSSW).

”Several days after my participation on Dikti’s competition for Research Student Creativity Program (RSCP),  my lecturers Putu Doddy ST and Aloysius Yuli Widianto ST asked me to participate on NSSW. On RSCP, I grouped with my senior and won some funding. On NSSW, I used the same thesis with the one I wrote on RSCP entitled “Utilization of Bentonit as Esterification Reaction Catalyst”. Of course, there were some modifications conducted,” said Ayrine.

Active in on-campus and off-campus organization is the criteria of being Mawapres.  “Not only clever, but also care to the community,” described this student from 2006 academic year. In more details, she is former Chemical Engineering Student Organization Vice Chairman and currently active on Radio Campus Student Organization. This SMA Karang Turi Semarang alumni was also active as mapping and Chemical Engineering Games (CEG) 2008 Vice Chairman. She is indeed active on church located at Nginden area.

The Ayrine’s journey to be Mawapres was not easy. “Under private university category, candidate should pass 2 levels of regional and national. It’s different with state university that consists of national level only. Thank you for my lecturers and friends who have supported and assisted me. The selection session was conducted on Tretes View hotel,” said girl who loves chocolate color.

On the 1st day of selection session on Tretes View, the jury interviewed Ayrine concerning her thesis, and organization experiences. The interview was conducted in English. On the 2nd day, Ayrine was asked to present her thesis.

“What a surprise because I am selected as regional level of Mawapres. I know the result from my friends. At the moment, I am waiting on the result for national level. My message to other Ubaya students, please focus and master something. Not too many, but make sure, you master on that field,” she ended.
