Reden Tanogo - Ubaya Informatics engineering student won Merit Award on INAICTA 2009

After passing the 3 selection processes that took 4 months, Reden Tanago (Ubaya Informatics engineering student) won the Merit award for Student Project-University category on Indonesia ICT Award (INAICTA) 2009. The award was given on INAICTA award presentation night held on 29 July 2009 at Jakarta Convention Centre.

INAICTA is a prestigious national competition that previously named as APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Award). This event that is organized by National ICT Community in conjunction with Indonesian Department of IT is mainly aimed to gather new innovative ideas.

The main session of INAICTA 2009 is ICT competition. It is divided into various categories. The number of INAICTA 2009 participants increase and achieved 700. There are 3 selection stages of desk evaluation about documents; offline evaluation means that all participants will be examined by 90 juries; and evaluation by discussion means all participants are required to present and exhibit their program in front of juries.

This year, Ubaya Informatics engineering department sends several students to compete on Student Project-University Category. 2 of them qualified to the 3rd stage and 1 of them qualified to the 5 INAICTA 2009 nominators, Student Project-University Category. The 1 who qualified to the 5 nominators is Reden Tanogo. He developed a program called “Generator and Solver of Sudoku Game”

Sudoku is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes contains the digits from 1 to 9 only one time each. The main issue that the Sudoku fans usually face is the availability of Sudoku game available on gadget or even in internet. Another issue is the difficulty to get Sudoku game up to certain level and the solution of that certain level. Reden’s program enables Sudoku fans to get unlimited variation of Sudoko and the solutions.

Then after tight selection process, Reden Tanogo won the Merit Award on Indonesia Information and Communication Technology Award (INAICTA) 2009. Congratulations t Reden and Ubaya Informatics engineering department.
