Since its establishment 3 years ago, Product Design and Management (DMP) Ubaya has achieved several success due to creativity and innovative ideas from its students. This time Ubaya DMP students participates on The 3rd International Furniture & Craft Fair Indonesia (IFFINA) 2010, 11-14 March at JIEXPO Jakarta.

IFFNA is furniture and craft exhibition that involves 350 participants with more than 10,000 buyers nationwide. This participation aims to show the creative and innovative ideas of Ubaya DMP students. In fact, Indonesian furniture and crafts are well known with their uniqueness and freshness touch.

On this prestigious event, Ubaya DMP sends 3 designs namely Angkringan Chair, Bamboocha (Toraja Bage) and Neo C (Dayak) under university student category.
All designs were adopted by Indonesia’s traditional crafts. For example, Angkringan is adopted from Central Java, Bamboocha is adopted from Traditional Toraja house, and Neo C from Dayak. According to Kumara S (Ubaya lecturer who accompanied students on IFFINA), “Comparative study activity encourages us to participate on IFFINA. There are many universities participated on IFFINA and this is the first time to Ubaya. In fact, the 3 prototypes are actually the 3 best student assignments on Furniture I subject delivered odd semester. They are the best in perspective of ergonomics, aesthetics, creativity, and uniqueness.”

Besides, IFFINA 2010 is also attended by International Buyers and DIKTI representatives. According to Kumara, by participating on IFFINA, Ubaya DMP is able to prove its existence as prominent study program in Ubaya.
