Being inspired by the alternating themes on mobile phone, Jerry Leonardo Muslim, one of Ubaya students develops a very innovative final thesis (TA). It is a system that can easily alter Mobile Phone themes and icons.

Jerry admitted that initially, he does not expect to develop the system that can easily alter Mobile Phone themes and icons.” I was then proposing and discussing that with my supervisor. Fortunately, my supervisor positively responded that idea,” said Jerry who just conducted the TA examination on 6 January.

This 2005 Informatics Engineering student then examines the web theme composer application development for Nokia Series 40. He chose that series because series 40 is widely used mobile phone. As the initial step, he tested and examined the system of his mobile phone. Application must be processed in computer, and will be installed to the mobile phone afterwards,” stated Jerry who comes from Makasar.

For pictures, users can select any pictures whatever they want. The picture size must be less than 50 kb. Otherwise, the system will operate very slowly. Indeed, the resolution must be 320 x 240 pixels. “The picture synchronization process will take some times,” he added.

Jerry explained,” My current constraint is the time to download pictures is quite long. It also depends on the picture size.” Nevertheless, after the process is done, my theme works as normal theme. “It will not interrupt the mobile phone performance,” stated Jerry who got A for this thesis.

According to Jerry,” I got very good response from my friends because by using this system, users can compose their own theme and icon. They can easily alter the icons and replace it with their own or their fiancé’s photos.” (alb/hud)
