Academic Advising

Students who need a guidance in their study plan or have either semester GPA or cumulative GPA <= 2.00 are advised to see an academic advisor.

Student withdrawal

A student may temporary stop to continue his/her study before semester registration which is not allowed for 2 consecutive semesters. This semester will not be counted for student's length of study.

A student may withdraw from all courses up to the last date of semester break exam week. This withdrawal is not allowed for 2 consecutive semesters This semester will not be counted for student's length of study.

A student who is taking final project is not allowed to take withdrawal.


Evaluation and Academic Warning

A student succeeds from first 2 years evaluation when he/she has completed 36 credit hours without grade of E and cumulative GPA >=2.00. The student is obliged to get at least grade of D for calculus I, Physics I and Physics laboratory. A student succeeds from second 2 years evaluation when he/she has completed 78 credit hours without grade of E and cumulative GPA >=2.00.

A student is on academic warning when the total credits taken for the first 1.5 years (without grade of E, cumulative GPA < 2) fulfil the following formula :

(GPA cum -1) x credits cum <= ( number of semester/4 x 36 credit hours)

A student is on academic warning when the total credits taken for the first 3.5 years (without grade of E, cumulative GPA < 2) fulfil the following formula :

(GPA cum -1) x credits cum <= ( number of semester/8 x 78 credit hours)

A student is on academic warning when the total credits taken for the first 1.5 years (without grade of E, cumulative GPA >= 2) fulfil the following formula :

credits cum <= ( number of semester/4 x 36 credit hours)

A student is on academic warning when the total credits taken for the first 3.5 years (without grade of E, cumulative GPA >= 2) fulfil the following formula :

credits cum <= ( number of semester/8 x 78 credit hours)

Outcomes expected for Engineering's graduate (S1) from The University of Surabaya :
