Electrical engineering is a study programme, which studies the theories and the applications about an electron movement symptom. The science of electrical engineering has been applied to all parts of human life such as the need of electricity resource, lighting, industry, telecommunication, electrical appliances, audio visual appliances, computer system, to the need of entertainment such as game and children toys.

The curriculum of Electrical Engineering Ubaya is designed to give a deep understanding towards electronics theories. Up to 70% of the main competency courses are delivered by classroom session method and laboratory/project session. A balance combination between theory and practical will give higher value to the graduates because they have a good knowledge about electrical engineering supported by a good practical skill.

At the beginning, electrical engineering curriculum will cover the basic of engineering science and theory of electricity. This stage will make a strong basic principal understanding. On the next stage, students will study the development of the basic concept of electro into several kinds of fields such as the area of series analysis, electronics component and series, telecommunication system, control system, high-tension current system, computer system and signal processing system. On the final stage, students can choose one of the two offered field of interests:

Automation and Robotic
Automation and robotic field prepares the students to master industrial automation technology, electricity installation, electronic power, programmable logic device (PLC), robotic, microprocessor and all kinds of fields related to the interaction between human, and machine. Electrical engineering graduates who have this interest can work in all kinds of industries especially related to automatic machines, installation system, and computer based system.

Communication and Information Technology
The interest area of Communication and Information Technology prepares the students to master the technology of computer communication, audio/video, data communication, cellular system, antenna, satellite, navigation, information processing technology, data compression system, and image processing. Electrical engineering graduates who have this interest can work in all kinds of industries especially related to telecommunication industry, computer communication, information system, and audio/video system.

Electrical Engineering Ubaya provides complete and sophisticated learning facilities and laboratories. Besides for the need of practical work, the laboratory can also be used for independent project, study group, and electronic hobby development. Electrical Engineering Ubaya also provides special laboratory for students who are doing research projects with lecturers or final project. This laboratory can be used for 24 hours by the students. The other facility is computer laboratory with internet facility that can be used to find recent information about the development of science and learn about supporting software and computer programming.

Electrical Engineering Curriculum
Student is considered as a graduate from Electrical Engineering Department Ubaya, majoring/specialising on Automation and Robotics if the student can meet the following conditions:
  • Have earned the minimum of 146 SKS
  • Have completed all of non-major’s compulsory subjects
  • Have completed all of major’s compulsory subjects
  • The minimum GPA (IPK) of 2.00
  • The “D” grade results achieved are less than 20 % from the total SKS taken
