2003 –2010
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND TARGETS


1. Strategic Objectives
  To implement the mission in order to realize the vision based on strategic issues of Faculty of Engineering, the strategic objective formula of Faculty of Engineering 2003-2010 are determined as follows:

Learning & Discovery :
    Quality and credibility of Teaching, Research, and Services.
     
 
2.
Sustainability :
    New study programs in order to make homogenous sub systems and income generating capacity.
     
 
3.
Promotion :
    Promotion and public relations in order to create positive image of Faculty of Engineering.
     
 
4.
Management :
    Professional and character management, and excellent services.
     
 
5.
Partnership :
    Networking with various institutes in regional, national and international levels.
     
2. Strategic Targets
  In order to reach the selected strategic objectives above, Faculty of Engineering formulates the strategic targets as follows :
     
     
  Year 2003 up to 2006
     
  a. Learning and Discovery :
    The good learning process through qualified and valuable programmes and also the achievement of adequate academic profile in science exploration and application.
   
Targets :
Learner-centered and comprehensive study programmes which are strenghtened by the deep and wide curriculum, adequate supporting service, preparing the students to be able to act in the next education and also professional careers.
The students' competence in the aspect of critical thinking, communication skill, accessibility to information, and informations technology.
The improvement and involvement of lecturers in "advancing learning" and the elevation of learning process quality.
The infrastructure facilities which push "learning excellence”.
The efficiency and productivity of learning process.
     
  b. Sustainability :
    New study programmes in order to make homogenous sub systems and to increase the income generating capacity
   
Targets :
New study programmes through sharing resources and energy with the study programmes, either in or outside Engineering Faculties which are available at this time.
The lecturers' competence in supporting the increase of income generating capacity.
     
  c Promotion :
    The good image of Faculty of Engineering Surabaya University through the elevation of effective and efficient quality and promotion.
   
Targets :
Continuous self-assessment
Infrastructure which supports professional, efficient and effective promotion process
     
  d Management (MGMT) :
    Competent-based management of Faculty of Engineering which fits the changing needs.
   
Targets :
Excellent service quality
Design of character and competence development
Discentralization of the administration process from faculty to departments.
     
  e. Partnership :
    Networking with various institutes in regional, national, and international levels.
   
Targets :
Effective partnership with various institutes, either in or abroad.
Mutual partnership with the alumni and also industrial and business practitioners.
Good response from professional society to the programmes of "continuing education" in Faculty of Engineering.
     
     
  Year 2007 up to 2010
     
  a Learning and Discovery :
    The existence and maintainance of good learning process through qualified and valueable programmes and the increase of research and public service activities.
   
Targets :
Outstanding students with values, principles of ethics and global prespective.
Academic climate which pushes the committed development exploring the science and benefaction.
Infrastructure facilities which push "excellence research and industrial services”
Significant research which focusses on basic and applied science and engineering
Collaborative interdisipliner model.
     
  b. Sustainability :
    New study programmes in order to make homogenous sub systems and to increase the income generating capacity
   
Targets :
The increase of income generating capacity.
     
  c Promotion :
    The good image of Faculty of Engineering Surabaya University through the elevation of effective and efficient quality and promotion.
   
Targets :
The activity of Teaching, Reasearch, Services and the activity of civitas academica become part of effective and efficient promotion process
The technology of information and communications in promotion
     
  d Management (MGMT) :
    Competent-based management of Faculty of Engineering which fits the changing needs.
   
Targets :
Self-discipline, equity esteem, human dignity esteem, tolerant and mutual trust climate.
Professional working ethos with the performance evaluating system.
Appreciation and promotion based on measured performance appraisal.
Technological use in supporting services.
     
  e Partnership :
    Networking with various institutes in regional, national, and international levels.
   
Targets :
Effective partnership and networking with various overseas education institutes in opening "International Program" for the certain study programme.
Effective partnership with the institutes, either in or abroad to support various research activities (joint research).
Stabilization of industrial and alumni link.
