After a tight selection process, research proposal from Putu Doddy Sutrisna, S.T., M.Sc. and Farid Sri Lingganingrum, S.Pt., M.Si., 2 Ubaya Chemical Engineering Department lecturers receive the 2010 competition based grant. Putu and Farid apply their research proposal to Directorate of Research and Community Development, Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti).

Being inspired by his father’s business in salt production, Alexander Edward Tanoko, Ubaya Manufacturing Engineering student designs a salt refiner and drier machine. Alexander claims that his machine is better compared to other similar machines.

Universitas Surabaya (Ubaya) organized Good Day Industrial Games XIX for high school SMA at City of Tomorrow mall. The competition held on 4-6 February competes various challenges in industry field. For example, students are challenged to sell products to mall visitors.
